Babies, Babies, and More Babies!

So last month Megan and her family were able to come visit us here in Utah!  I finally got to meet Quentin and boy was he cute!

This was when Clayson was still in Rachel's belly!

But as many of you know, Clayson was born three weeks ago.  This last Sunday, Jordan and I were able to meet him for the first time and it was so much fun!  He didn't cry the entire time Jordan and I were there.  I was amazed, normally baby's cry about five minutes after I start holding them!

So my life has been full of babies lately and I think it will only get fuller!  I'm so excited!

Halloween

So this year for Halloween we decided to go to DI and find costumes.  It was great!  Jordan found this childs dragon outfit that he fit into with some alterations, lol, and I was Wenda from Where's Waldo.  We had a great time with our friends, the Flakes!

We're Having a Baby!

So if you don't know yet, the word is out, Jordan and I are having a baby!  I had my first prenatal appointment this afternoon and we were able to see the baby for the first time!  Below is the picture of the ultrasound.  The arrow is pointing to the head and those two bumps are the baby's arm bud a leg bud.  They put my due date on June 14 2010 so we better get ready.  I can't exclaim how exciting this was to see the baby.  It made it all so much more real.  I even heard the heartbeat!

All in all, my first trimester has been treating me very well.  I haven't really had any morning sickness and except for fatigue, cramping, and food adversion I'm just as I always am.   I'll do my best to keep things updated, but as everyone knows sometimes I have a hard time keeping up with my blog, but as you can see I was just so excited when I got home I couldn't stop from posting this!

Ostrich Riding

I almost forgot, Jordan and I went and rode ostriches on our way to Cape Town.  It was a ton of fun!  But before we rode the ostriches we had ostrich burgers and salad!  Mmm Yum.

Then we finally got to ride the ostrich...

I never knew it was possible to ride ostriches, but I found out there they actually have jockeys and races!  It's pretty tough to stay on too.  You have to have really strong legs.

South Africa

So on our way to South Africa we had a 7 hour layover in London and we decided to go tour around London for a few hours.  This is us at the Buckingham Palace gates.

 

Also I got a great picture with a red double-decker bus, red phone booth, and a English taxi (it's leaving the pic), and a sign post for the Underground.  I didn't even try for the taxi or underground, they were just there at the right time!

 

Then we got to South Africa, this is the house we stayed in for three months.

 

And this was our group that came with us: Rachel, me, Jordan, Matt, Macrae, Amy, and Yukiko!

 

This is the Catholic church Jordan was studying the most and we became real good friend with the priest, Father Peter.

 

Our host mom and dad were Kathy and Cornelius Thomas.  They were very wonderful people and we are so grateful that they let us into their lovely home.

 

And this is their dog Rocky, I miss him so much.  He really made me want to have a dog, but I can wait.  I'm too busy right now. He really was a great dog though.

We really enjoyed this place called the Curry Palace.  It was my first time trying Nann and it was DELICIOUS!

 

This is some guy that was balancing this huge load on top of his head at the Grahmstown festival.  I was pretty impressed.

 

Jordan also got to go bungee jumping on the worlds longest bungee jump.  I'll be honest I chickened out, it just wasn't worth the scare for me.  He said it was great though.

 

Instead, I chose to pet a baby white lion cub named Snowball.  She was so beautiful.  What an experience that was!

 

Jordan and I also had the opportunity to go to a Hindu wedding and I got to wear this beautiful punjabi.  Most of the wedding was spoken in Gujarati so we didn't understand anything that is going on, but they sure had great food and we ate it with our hands, YUM!

 

Jordan and I really liked this tree, we passed by it every time we went to the zoo. It made us feel like we were in the jungle somewhere. 
 

Also, a very traditional meal is something called a Braai which is basically a BBQ, but with different kinds of meat and a lot of it.  This is what my plate looked like.  This one probably the best one we had too! Yum! 

Oh, and we did get to see South African penguins in the wild in Cape Town like I always wanted.  That was pretty amazing!

 

Well, I hope you enjoyed our pictures of the summer.  Jordan and I had a great time.  It was such an experience.  I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to go.  It did make me miss home and family quite a bit and it gave me a great appreciation for what we have.  We are sooo blessed!  We hope that everyone's summer went well and hope to keep in touch.  We love you all!

School has just started and it is crazy busy, but I will do my best.
