First Christmas

Well, I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone!  Ariana is now 6 months old and I think she is enjoying exploring the world around her.  We had a wonderful Christmas time.  We were able to go visit with my papa and a lot of my family for a lunch on Christmas Eve day and then we headed over to Uncle Roger's for Christmas Eve and shared in their tradition of ordering pizza and having family and friends over.  Then came Christmas day which was nice and peaceful morning.  Jordan got his laptop and new headset with a mic to be able to chat with his friends while playing games.  They are noise canceling so now when I try to talk to him while he plays he can't hear a word I say.  I think he enjoys them a lot, lol.  I got a blender which makes a ton of different things including ice cream and soup.  I am soooo excited to be cooking with it, I'm really enjoying it so far.  Ariana got lots of various toys to keep her entertained and books which she seems to enjoy to read.

The beginning of this month we were also able to be visited by Nana (Cozy) and Papa (Ray).  It was great seeing them.  We had a lot of fun and were so happy that they were able to come.  Thanks Nana and Papa for coming and we are so excited to see you in February!!

Well, here are this pictures of the month.  Enjoy!

Ariana in her Bumbo with Nana.  Thanks Nana!!
Thanks for the cupcake hat Lauren!
Jordan in his internship cubicle this past semester.  Now he's upgraded to working full time at Community Action Services in Provo and has his own office.  He seems to be enjoying it immensely and seems to be really happy to be done with school homework.  Jordan graduated Valedictorian with a Bachelor's in Anthropology.  Congrats Jordan!
Ariana's first taste of real food.  She did really well and is getting better at it every day.  Today we are going to try bananas!! YUM

 Merry Christmas!

Just waking up and still in that lala land phase, lol.  Best time to take pictures.
(PS these duck pjs pics were taken today!)

 Oh no, I'm falling!!

Ariana also got her first tooth this week.  She's been playing with it ever since.

5 Months Old and Counting

I can't believe my little girl is five months old already.  Ariana is doing very well.  I think she will be able to sit up by herself really soon which makes me excited.  She get's so bored now laying on her back that I often have to be sitting with her to keep her sitting up.  Right now her favorite toy is this apple chew toy and she still really like the loops that hold toys above babies heads.  As for Jordan, he has been just extremely busy trying to get all his graduate school applications done as well as keep up with school.  I am really thankful for this break coming up so that we can spend more time with each other and family and friends.  This last weekend we went to the MOA and saw the Carl Bloch exhibit.  It was amazing!!  If you don't know who Carl Bloch is, he is a famous artist who painted many beautiful scenes of Christ.  They truly move your soul as you stand looking into Christ's face.  I'm really glad we got to attend the exhibit.

Well, as no blog is good without some pictures, here are the most recent pictures of Ariana.  Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Four Months Old Day!

Ariana is four months old today! Yay!  Time is just flying by so fast, it was only yesterday we had this 7 lb baby in our arms.  Now she is 12 lbs 13 oz and 23.5 inches long!  We had our four month wellness check up yesterday and the doctor said she is right on track in her growth and development, plus she said she was one of the most adorable babies she's seen (now you don't get that every time!).  It is so much fun to watch her start noticing the world around her.  She loves toys now and gets bored quickly, especially if she can't grab a hold of it.  Therefore her favorite toys are the loops that hold up toys and these stuffed bugs that have all sorts of fun things to chew on and grab.  Her smile just lights up my day and she has even laughed for me once, but only the once.  I have tried and tried again to get her to laugh like the one time and all she gives me is a great big smile, which I still love.  We are loving this beautiful girl and are so grateful to have her sweet spirit in our home.

As for Jordan, he has been crazy busy this semester.  This is the BIG week of taking the GRE!  Jordan has been studying for this exam for four to five months and has really dedicated himself to learning all those crazy GRE vocabulary words.  I'll be reading a book and come to a word I have never used and ask Jordan the definition and of course he knows what it!  Also Jordan is participating in the BYU Gamelan and just had a concert last night.  Thanks to Joe and Melina for babysitting Ariana, I was even able to go!  They were some pretty fun pieces as Jordan played the gongs for one piece and the chang-chang on the other.  Then Jordan is also currently interning at Community Action Services three times a week from 8 am to 5 pm.  He says he is really enjoying it and seems to be getting more and more excited about doing a dual masters program in Social Work and Urban Planning.   And last but not least Jordan is still taking classes at BYU two times a week from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.  So by the time he gets home often his night is filled with trying to get his Economics homework done.  To say the least he is very busy and yet still finds the time to play with Ariana and hang out with his wife.  He really is amazing!  I'll be really happy when this GRE stuff is all done so he won't have so much on his plate though.

As for me, well... I'm just hanging out with Ariana and doing housework which I actually enjoy to a point.  Lately I've been really enjoying cooking and yesterday I actually made a pumpkin pie out of scratch pumpkin, crust, and all!  It was really rewarding and enjoyed it a ton!

I know I have said a lot this time, Jordan is always telling me, "A good blog has lots and lots of pictures and very little words," but I figure every so often words can't hurt :).  We love you all and hope all is going well!  Here are some pictures so no one is disappointed.

 * By the way, I did write this on the 20th, but blogger was having some technical difficulties.
